Founders First Law
Branding, Web Design
I was tasked to provide some quick branding and web design for a lawyer, looking to open a practice focusing on providing business counsel for existing and newly formed businesses. The general landscape of law firms tends to lean traditional in its visual language. In some cases in more lower-middle class neighborhoods law firms can go completely the opposite direction, looking for more playful or approachable visual language.
The client expressed not wanting to fall on standard law iconography or visuals. However the focus for his work would be aimed at those needing counsel for mid-to-large businesses or groups looking to start new businesses.
The concept around the logo mark is two fold, one part being a monogram for the company name and a representation of the kind of bonds the client want to build with their clients. The client described their work more as a working collaboration to find and address legal solutions for new and old businesses.
The colors for the brand were chosen to help ground the brand a bit , while also looking a bit more approachable. We wanted to avoid being too bold by lowering saturated hues and also wanted to avoid the brand feeling too “tech-y” by using blue hues.

About
Hello! I'm Tom. I've been a professional designer for just about 14 years now and have always felt an affinity for problem solving. I believe designing thoughtful solutions begins with a deep understanding of three things: the problem, the user or audience and desired outcome.
When I'm not working I enjoy moonlighting as a photographer, camping, playing video games and occasionally making noises on my guitar.
